Have you ever wondered where to find unusual winter birds that are known to pass through our region, including snowy owls, waterfowl, loons, and snow buntings? Join the Greenwich Audubon Center for this virtual program to learn about the life histories of winter birds and where to look for them. Bird Education Specialist Ryan MacLean will provide expertise and guidance with finding these species in our region.
Our winter birds include a combination of yearlong residents and also migratory species that visit us during these winter months. We will discuss when and where to look for different winter birds in various local habitats, and what birds to look for around your home, local parks, and other areas. We will also provide recommendations for how to attract and support birds with feeders and native plants that serve as vital food sources and shelter throughout the winter.
